What is the Queenstown Artist Residency?
Situated in an old bank building, the residency’s goal is simply to encourage artists to reside and create art in Queenstown, Tasmania.
Who can apply?
Q Bank Gallery welcomes applications from emerging & established visual artists, street artists, illustrators, performance, video and sound artists, writers, and filmmakers.
Criteria
A portfolio that demonstrates a high level of artistic merit and one that promotes critical debate about contemporary art and culture.
Terms and Conditions
- Up to two artists can work and stay on the ground floor of Q Bank Gallery for two to four weeks. (Longer periods can be negotiated.) Families are welcome. The ground floor incorporates two bedrooms, two toilets, a shower, a kitchen, a laundry (mezzanine level reached by rear outside stairs), and the gallery space, which fronts onto the street.
- Residents must keep the rooms clean.
- Residents are responsible for the hanging/installation and removal of their artworks.
